Thalente Khomo lebt in Durban, Südafrika. Sie ist Konzept- und Dokumentarfotografin und bewegt sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen Erinnerung und Vorstellungskraft, dort, wo die sichtbare Welt auf das trifft, was man spürt, aber nicht immer sieht. Ihre Arbeit gründet auf dem Gedächtnis der Vorfahren und Kindheitserinnerungen. Anhand von Themen wie Spiritualität, Trauma, Heilung und der Würdigung der schwarzen Identität nutzt sie Fotografie und Druckgrafik als Raum des Erinnerns und der Wiederherstellung, als Mittel, das zum Schweigen Gebrachte zurückzugewinnen und ihre Gemeinschaft auf umfassendere, freiere Weise neu zu denken.

Thalente Khomo based in Durban, South Africa. She is a conceptual & documentary photographer working at the space between memory and imagination, where the visible world meets what is felt but not always seen. Her practice is grounded in ancestral memory and childhood memories. Through themes of spirituality, trauma, healing, and the celebration of Black identity, she uses photography and printmaking as a space for remembering and restoration, a way to reclaim what has been silenced and to reimagine her community in fuller, freer ways.
