Der Güterbahnhof Bremen – Areal für Kunst und Kultur e.V. vergibt zum 1. Mai 2026 ein einjähriges Atelierstipendium an eine:n in Bremen lebende:n Künstler:in.
Über den Güterbahnhof Bremen – Areal für Kunst und Kultur
Der Güterbahnhof Bremen - Areal für Kunst und Kultur ist seit 1997 Arbeitsort für freie Künstler*innen, Kreative und Kulturschaffende und zentraler Kunst- und Kulturstandort der freien Szene Bremens.Auf dem ca. 36.000 qm großen Gelände befinden sich Hallen und Räume für Ateliers, Proberäume, Produktionsstudios sowie Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsräume für zeitgenössische Kunst und Kultur. Hier arbeiten ca. 300 Künstler:innen, Kreative und Kulturschaffende in rund 100 Arbeitsräumen.
Das Stipendium
Das Atelierstipendium umfasst die kostenfreie Nutzung eines ca. 20 qm großen Arbeitsraums auf dem Gelände des Güterbahnhofs für die Dauer von zwölf Monaten (1. Mai 2026 – 31. März 2027). Der Raum befindet sich im 2. Obergeschoss des Atelier- und Studiohauses und ist leider nicht barrierefrei zugänglich. Der Güterbahnhof Bremen – Areal für Kunst und Kultur e.V. fördert den Austausch mit anderen Künstler:innen und Kulturschaffenden,ermöglicht die Nutzung von Werkstätten und bietet Raum, neue Arbeitsweisen zu erproben und die eigenekünstlerische Praxis weiterzuentwickeln. Am Ende des Stipendienjahres besteht optional die Möglichkeit, Arbeiten im Rahmen einer Ausstellung oder eines anderen Formats an einem der Ausstellungsorte des Güterbahnhofs zu präsentieren. Die Bereitschaft zur Teilnahme an den GB-Open (Open Studios) im September wird vorausgesetzt.
Wer kann sich bewerben?
Bewerben können sich professionell arbeitende Künstler:innen aller Sparten der bildenden Kunst, die ihren Wohnsitz in Bremen haben, unabhängig von Alter oder Ausbildungsweg.
Besichtigungstermin
Ein Besichtigungstermin für den Raum findet am 18.3.2026 zwischen 17-18 Uhr statt. Treffpunkt ist am Eingang des Atelier- und Studiohaus.

About Güterbahnhof Bremen
Güterbahnhof Bremen – Areal für Kunst und Kultur e.V. has been a workplace for independent artists, creatives and cultural workers and a central art and culture location for Bremen‘s independent scene. The approximately 36,000 square metre site houses halls and rooms for studios, rehearsal rooms, production studios, and exhibition and event spaces for contemporary art and culture. Around 300 artists, creative professionals and cultural workers work here in approximately 100 workspaces.
The scholarship
The studio scholarship includes the free use of an approx. 20 sqm workspace on the Güterbahnhof site for a period of twelve months (1 May 2026 – 31 March 2027). The space is located on the 2nd floor of the studio building and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Güterbahnhof Bremen – Areal für Kunst und Kultur e.V. promotes exchange with other artists and cultural professionals, enables the use of workshops and offers space to try out new ways of working and further develop one‘s own artistic practice. At the end of the scholarship year, there is the option of presenting work in an exhibition or another format.
Who can apply?
Professional artists from all disciplines of the visual arts who are resident in Bremen can apply, regardless of age or educational background.
Viewing appointment
A viewing appointment for the space will take place on 18 March 2026 between 5 and 6 p.m. The meeting point is at the entrance to the studio building.
